KEPCO defeated Samsung Fire 3-1 (26-24, 25-18, 23-25, 25-18) in straight sets in the sixth round of the Dodram V League 2023-24 Men’s Division on Wednesday at Suwon Indoor Gymnasium.
The victory snapped a four-game losing streak for KEPCO, which avoided being swept in the sixth round. With the three points, KEPCO moved up to fifth place with 50 points, dropping Samsung Fire (48 points) to sixth place.
Lim Sung-jin played a big role. Lim exploded for a career-high 26 points to lead KEPCO to victory. She also had three service aces and five blocked shots. Her blocking percentage was also a career-high. Her attack success rate was 58.06%.
It was a performance that washed away the slump. In his first full season, Lim struggled a bit in Round 6. His receiving efficiency was jagged, and his attack efficiency was less than 15%. In the last match against OK Financial Group, her attack efficiency dropped by 4.17%. However, against Samsung Fire, the team showed a 35.48% attack efficiency.
