Gyeongnam Development Corporation wins 31-27

Gyeongnam Development Corporation raised the team’s spirits by beating Daegu Metropolitan Government.

Gyeongnam Development Corporation defeated Daegu Metropolitan Government 31-27 in the sixth game of the third round of the Shinhan SOL Pay 23-24 Handball H League Women’s Division at Light Goeul Gymnasium in Seo-gu, Gwangju on Wednesday.

With its second straight win, Gyeongnam Development Corporation remained in second place with 15 wins, two draws and three losses and 32 points, while Daegu Metropolitan Government suffered its 20th consecutive loss.

Gyeongnam Development Corporation, who had clinched second place, started with the best team and took advantage of Daegu Metropolitan Government’s mistakes early on to take a narrow lead.

As Daegu Metropolitan Government played calmly and made fewer mistakes, they caught up and tied the game at 10-10. Goalkeeper Osara made a save and Gyeongnam Development Corporation regained the lead at 13-10.

Gyeongnam Development Corporation took out its main players and used bench members. Daegu Metropolitan Government caught up to the lead at 15-14 as Gyeongnam Development Corporation’s passing was not smooth. Eventually, Gyeongnam Development Corporation ended the first half with a 16-14 lead.

In the second half, Gyeongnam Development Corporation came out with its main players again and went up to 18-14, but Daegu Metropolitan Government scored three goals in a row to take the lead at 18-17 after a save by goalkeeper Kang Eun-ji.

Gyeongnam Development Corporation took the lead again, 25-20, as Osara made a save. Daegu Metropolitan City closed the gap to 26-24 and never stopped chasing until the end. However, Gyeongnam Development Corporation widened the gap again in the last minute to win 31-27.

Gyeongnam Development Corporation’s offense was led by Lee Yeon-kyung and Choi Ji-hye with six goals 사설토토 apiece, while Osara made 14 saves in goal. Lee was named the match’s MVP.

Daegu Metropolitan Government led the offense with six goals from Ji Hye Ji, four goals each from Lee Won-jung, Ham Ji-seon, Heo Soo-rim, and Hwang Eun-jin, while goalkeeper Kang Eun-ji made 10 saves. Heo Soo-rim reached 100 career goals.

“It was a tough game, but I’m glad we won,” said Choi Ji-hye of Gyeongnam Development Corporation. “We’ll do our best to prepare for the playoffs for the rest of the season so that we can go to the championship match, and if we reach the championship match, we’ll try to win the title.”
